National Cyber Scholar with Honors

This is a repost from LinkedIn.

Last September I earned the GFACT certification with a score of 91. I had the opportunity to study for this certification through the SANS Cyber Foundations Academy. This training had been awarded to me because of earning the title of National Cyber Scholar by being in the top 2% of a very lengthy CTF competition called CyberStart. Yesterday I found out that I made it to the highest ranking this competition had to offer: National Cyber Scholar with Honors. This ranking also includes a scholarship award in the name of Alan Paller to keep investing in my education.

“Alan Paller – NCSF Founder and Chair of the Board of Trustees – sadly passed away. Alan was a pioneer in the cybersecurity industry and started the NCSF to identify and empower the next generation of cybersecurity talent. If there was anyone who understood the commitment, effort, and aptitude required to achieve Scholar with Honors status, it was Alan. We know he would be thrilled to see you receive this award in his name.”

I am very proud of this achievement and grateful for this foundation gave me the opportunity to excel and continue to improve my knowledge of cybersecurity.
